1. Planning tool, not professional advice

The Club Budget Model, Board Finance Presentation Template, templates, guides, emails and other materials from Hospitality Finance Tools (the "Products") are general planning and presentation tools. They are not accounting, auditing, tax, legal, investment, actuarial, reserve-study or other professional advice, and using them does not create an advisory, fiduciary or client relationship with Hospitality Finance Tools or its owner.

Treatment of initiation fees, capital dues, assessments, F&B minimum shortfall charges, deferred revenue, debt and 501(c)(7) status (including nonmember income limits) depends on your club's governing documents, board policies, auditors and advisors. Follow them, not the model's default settings. Consult a qualified CPA, attorney or other advisor before relying on any output for financial statements, tax filings, member communications, borrowing or governance decisions.

2. You are responsible for your numbers

• Outputs are only as good as the data and assumptions you enter. You are solely responsible for entering, reviewing and checking all inputs, for any changes you make to formulas or structure, and for confirming results before sharing them.
• Built-in "model checks" test certain internal ties and totals. They do not confirm that your inputs are correct, complete or appropriate, or that results comply with any accounting standard.
• Forecasts, scenarios and projections (dues increases, attrition, cost of belonging, reserve balances, debt) are estimates. Actual results will differ, possibly materially.
• Sample data (e.g., "Sample Oaks Country Club") is fictional and is not a benchmark or a recommendation.

3. USFRC and third parties

"USFRC-style" means the departmental layout is modeled on the Uniform System of Financial Reporting for Clubs, published by CMAA/HFTP. Hospitality Finance Tools is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by CMAA, HFTP, or any club software vendor (including Jonas, Clubessential and Northstar). All trademarks belong to their owners.

4. No warranty

The Products are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, except the 14-day refund in our Terms of Use (Section 7.1). We do not warrant that the Products are error-free or suitable for your club's purposes.

5. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hospitality Finance Tools and its owner are not liable for any indirect, consequential or other damages, or for any budget, dues, assessment, capital, financing or other decision made using the Products. Total liability is limited to the amount paid for the Product in the 12 months before the claim, as set out in the Terms of Use (Section 10).

Articles, newsletters and examples are for general education, may become outdated, and may not reflect your club's situation or current law.
